Support FAQ´s
Q. How do I set up the projector?
A. Turn on your laptop, turn on the projector, plug in the projector, launch ExhibitView. Practice this before you go to court. NEVER mimick the PowerPoint “mirror” my screen keystroke with ExhibitView. We run Extended Desktop and never duplicate our main screen. Contact support@exhibitview.net for more help.
Q. Can I use the trial version in court?
A. Yes & No. The trial version has red letters on the projector output saying “buy your copy to remove this warning” and you don’t want the jury to see that, usually. Our trial version is for testing, learning and the real benefit from our product comes from buying it.
Q. I tried downloading the 2 week trial version this afternoon and I am getting an error. It says “error reading setup initialization file.” I have tried running from the download prompt and also tried to save the file to my computer and execute it from there. I receive the same message either way.
A. You must be administrator on the computers. Check to see that your font size set to 96dpi at 100 percent? Check the settings and try again.
Q. I tried to play the On-Demand tutorials but I get an error, just a black box.
A. Make sure you have the latest version of Adobe flash player or QuickTime.
Q. I can open ExhibitView and add exhibits no problem. But when I try to create a slide, the slide background is just black and will not let me do anything.
A. Check your graphics card drivers to be sure you have the latest version. You need DirectX 9.0c and a graphics driver that will allow D3D direct draw capabilities. Click on “run” and type: DxDiag and you’ll see your systems configuration. Copy results to clipboard, paste in an email and send to support@exhibitview.net for more help.
Q. I put a DVD in the computer but I cannot add it to the A/V tab.
A. Correct, it won’t work. A DVD is not a disc with individual video files you can use in our a/v tab. Contact support@exhibitview.net for help converting a DVD into useable video files
Q. I can place items in the presentation area, but I cannot see them on the projector?
A. Click your projector icon or F12 to publish the items in presentation out to the projector
Q. I only see the first page of a multi-page document after I put it into presentation area?
A. Yes, ExhibitView currently always displays page 1. Look to the lower right part of the presentation area for a navigation bar, similar to Acrobat, and you can advance page by page or click, enter any page # to jump.
Q. How do I select a different page of a multi-page document to show after I drag it onto a slide? I only see the first page.
A. Just double click on the document to open a properties box. Select any page and hit OK. You can resize it now, crop it and move it into place.
Q. I can’t use any markup tools on a slide while in presentation area?
A. Correct. Live annotation is reserved for documents, images, a/v or saved web pages only. You can resize and markup documents during the slide creation process, so we reserve the tools in presentation for single items only.
Q. Can I run ExhibitView on a Macintosh or IPAD.
A. MAC yes and IPAD soon. Your mac must have Bootcamp or Parallels and Windows XP, Vista or 7 and you can run ExhibitView. You will need to put the MAC into Extended monitor mode and THEN launch into Windows for final courtroom setup.
